Different Energy Sources

Different energy sources refers the different ways we harness and use energy. They include renewable and non-renewable energy sources. The type of energy we choose is determined by a number factors, such as how it impacts the environment and whether it’s affordable and accessible.

In 2018, fossil fuels (oil natural gas, and coal) made up 81 percent of all the energy used in the world. However, these nonrenewable sources of energy could cause harm to the environment in a variety ways. For instance the oil drilling process can be a disaster on communities and wildlife; fracking produces water pollution and coal power plants emit carbon dioxide.

Renewable energy is also referred to as green power or clean. It is derived from resources that are constantly replenished like the sun, wind, and rain. It’s a great choice to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and also helping the planet.

Renewable energy isn’t solely about protecting the environment. It’s also about being affordable, reliable and efficient. Renewable energy is becoming increasingly widely used to power our homes and businesses.

The most commonly used renewable energy sources are solar, wind hydropower, nuclear, and solar. Solar energy is a technology that converts sunlight into warmth and electricity. Wind energy captures the kinetic energy of moving air to generate electricity. It is utilized in many places all over the world. Hydropower harnesses the power of moving water to generate electricity. And nuclear energy uses the process of atomic fission to make electricity.
